CARROT-WIP / OCT 2026 EDITION

SSH from Windows and PC

Check whether Carrot Web's tools can do the task before opening a terminal.

Prepare

Connect PC and device to the same network and finish public-key registration. The username is comma.

Windows PowerShell

powershell
ssh -i "$env:USERPROFILE/.ssh/id_ed25519" comma@DEVICE-IP

Replace DEVICE-IP and the key path as needed. On macOS/Linux, use the private key in your home .ssh directory.

First read-only checks

Run these inside the device shell:

sh
cd /data/openpilot
git branch --show-current
git rev-parse --short HEAD
git status --short
df -h

If changed files are listed, establish who changed them and why before updating or resetting. Do not paste complete logs/settings containing sensitive data into public channels.

Current paths

The current source has paths nested under openpilot/selfdrive/.... The old selfdrive/frogpilot/fleetmanager path is not the current Carrot Web path. Current web source: openpilot/selfdrive/carrot.

Using PuTTY

Select the private key, converting it with PuTTYgen if the key format requires it. Follow the current app's Private key settings rather than old screenshot positions. Windows OpenSSH keeps a new setup straightforward.

Carrot Web terminal and remote support are also available. Share support links/PINs only with the intended helper and stop the session afterwards.
